AIM OF THE PROJECT
The aim of the project is to carry out research and development works, the result of which will be process technological innovation, involving the processing of a PET flake coming from the recycling of bottles into two products – plasticizer for softening PVC and ethylene glycol. During the project, we will acquire knowledge about the processes and physical and chemical changes taking place in the reactor at a larger scale, close to the real one, depending on its structure, construction, structure, shape, mixing method, heating of raw materials, knowledge of the speed of these processes, factors on its influence, the way it is controlled. We will process processes and as a result, we will significantly improve the technology of producing a plasticizer and ethylene glycol, and thus their composition and physical parameters. Next, we will develop and build an innovative prototype of a pilot plant – a high-performance technological line for the production of a plasticiator (DOT, di (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate and ethylene glycol by chemical degradation of PET flakes with 2-ethylhexyl alcohol.) The new technological line will be unique in scale international, as confirmed by the state of the art report issued by the UPRP.
